- Yaiza García was born in Malaga in 1981, and received an artistic education at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada. She combined her work as an engraver with research, obtaining her PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2011. Among the different exhibitions and prizes obtained are noteworthy the Young Creators Awards by the National Chalcography in Madrid, as well as her participation in the 16th Edition of Estampa Fair, in the 21st Edition of the Printing Show in Paris, in the 7th International Engraving Biennial of Versailles and, more recently, in the European Triennial of the Contemporary Printing in the French region of Midi-Pyrénées. Her graphic work is characterised by elegant representations, simple and rich in nuances that pause in the various fragments that make up the landscape. It is an elaborate drawing in which the line acquires a great importance conforming the different volumes and, in turn, is enhanced with subtle stains of colour.
