Biography
- Belén Gonzalo (1970) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specialisation in painting. In the press publications about her pictorial work (El Diario Sur de Málaga, El Diario de León, and La República de las Letras) it was mentioned as follows: “She has an intimate and elegant stroke, her weightless compositions are made from the hidden feeling and secret of the soul." Enrique Castaños Alés. The titles of his paintings are poems; sitting in front of the canvas, she plays to listen to it and translate its voice. She has published five collections of poems with the Editorial Mandala. From them it has been said: “(…) of nostalgically open and delicate word and forceful in the presence", Beatriz Calvo. She has complemented his pictorial education with engraving courses in N.Y. and Madrid: “The Printmaking Workshop”, “The Art Student League” and “La Casa de la Moneda”. She held numerous solo exhibitions both in Institutions: Unicaja, Malaga/ El Brocense, Caceres/ El Instituto Cervantes, Rome, Milan, Utrecht y Naples; and in Art Galleries: M.Y. Art Prospects, N.Y. Armaga, Leon, Cuatrodiecisiete, Madrid; and participated in Art Fairs, such as Estampa A Cuadros Gallery, Madrid (with which she has exhibited in numerous occasions also in solo exhibitions). She has been awarded with prizes like the one from Plastic Arts by the Caceres Provincial Council.
